I mean I agree at face value but like what counts as identity shaping hobbies? because some of this stuff is, you know, identity shaping hobbies. What counts as a real life hobby? Am I not alive and thus doing something in real life? I know what you mean but I’m asking anyways because I don’t know where your line is here.
On the one hand yes please understand that you can’t have fulfilling hobbies in reblogging memes, gofundme’s, and internet drama but on the other hand I can’t tell if you’re dismissing other things that are hobbies, interests, or of other significance on their own but are connected to online. Things like fanfiction, story analyses, fanart, activism, politics, what is worthy of being “real life” and what isn’t? You wonder about people’s confusion about this post but it’s unclear and frankly patronizing.
